I have found the local job fairs to be good for networking and attending seminars for helpful advice, but that is it. I have never had a valid employer contact about a position and frankly, I have seen the job fairs only good for new crews who get a story for the day. Don't expect anything and be thrilled if anything positive results. Even entry level positions are mostly non-existent.

I would like to hear more....good job! I had a confrontational interview, and although very prepared for this interview technique, I was torn between showing them everything so they would have a true picture of me, and using the turn the negative into a positive response technique. I choose a little of both, but did not get the job because of cultural fit. It is a very conservative company, and I let them see all of my quirky personality. I feel it would have come out 6 months to a year down the road, as your true personality always comes thru. Long story short, I finished 2nd and their 1st choice got the job. I may be invited back to consult once the new Director of R&D and Quality is put in place. The previous Director held the position 27 years.
