One-to-One Student Coaching

As a parent, you want what's best for your child. You realize that a college education is great at opening doors. But a college degree does not always equal a successful career.

A common misconception among students and their parents is colleges are very effective in "placing" students in the work force upon graduation. In reality, colleges are in the business of education, not job hunting. To their credit most colleges have set up placement offices to help students' job hunting efforts. Their results, however, are mixed

Regardless of any school's placement office efforts, your child is responsible for success or failure in his career. After investing many thousands of dollars in an education is it wise to not do everything possible to ensure you're on the right track?

What's in it for my child?

Each student is unique. Accordingly, our coaching is easily adaptable to a student's needs. Here are some typical areas of concern we've seen over the years:

  • I'm not sure what I want to do with my career. Is there a good way to find out?
  • Are there other career paths I could pursue?
  • I think I know what I'd like to do, but should I get more education
  • first?
  • My resume seems OK, but I want someone to look it over for me.
  • I know I need to network, but I'm not getting anywhere fast. Can I improve?
  • I wonder about my interviewing skills. They seem OK, but that's been for lesser jobs. Now it really counts.
  • What are the rules of job hunting etiquette?
  • I think I've landed a great job, but I don't want to leave money on the table. Can you help with negotiating?
